St John Ambulance uniform review

St John Ambulance is currently undergoing a review of their uniform. The new design is currently under consultation and I’m going to refrain from posting what it looks like. For any members that want to have their say you can find a powerpoint presentation including photos on the members website. If you don’t know about the members website then ask your unit leader, or email me.

From the preview I’ve seen so far it looks great. I wasn’t sure about the colour at first, but it’s starting to grow on me. The new uniform is modern and practical and will be the most dramatic change to the uniform ever.

There is one thing that I really don’t like, which is the hat. I’ve never been a fan of hats, but hi-vis is just taking it too far! The hat is reversible so I don’t expect we will see the hi-vis side very often, in fact my hope is that it will get dropped before the final design.

I’ll post more details when the design is finalised, but it looks like St John Ambulance will be getting a great new uniform to greatly improve the image of the organisation.

Just my opinion…
