Career Warfare is a guide to making your way to the top in your career. It’s by David F. D’Alessandro CEO of John Hancock. The book uses numerous examples of thinks that will help, or hinder your progression up the career ladder.

At first the subject sounds a bit dry, but it is actually a good read with the real life stories making this far more than just a list of tips to success. D’Allessandro uses examples of others he has dealt with in his own career path, as well as stories you may have read in the press, as well as direct examples from his own successes and mistakes. Admitting his own flaws only strengthens many of the points he raises.

This book is really aimed at those that want to aim for the top. If you want to be the next CEO of a major corporation then this is really for you. If however like me you have a drive to be successful in your career, but don’t want to devote your entire life to that pursuit then there are still lots of tips to be gained, although you will have to apply your own principles to match your own personal goals.

If you want to do well in your chosen career then this book can certainly help you on the way.
