NHS trust crazy minimum waiting list rule – Hospital Fined for Cutting Waiting List
This is perhaps the worst NHS story that I’ve ever heard. A hospital that is not being paid for the treatment given to patients because the patients had not been on a waiting list for the minimum 4 months.
It appears we don’t just have maximum waiting times, but minimum waiting times as well.
This really is bureaucracy gone mad. The trust appear to be sending the message that if the hospital is treating more patients than it has joining the queue they should just sit back, close the theatres and wait for patients to catch up.
This is completely ridiculous.
